Purple windows of my near dawn
Still yearning for my breathless yawn
Against the day anew, I pawn
A night to slight; no curtain drawn.
I waste no haste; no, I don't fawn
Upon the new day's snow-capped crown.

I love the light of which it's born
And eyes wide open with no frown
Move free from dark night to this morn.
This greater-grace new day is shown
As Him Who's life is now my own.
